Helmholtz Imaging: Call for applications

The Helmholtz Association announced the 2022 call for Helmholtz Imaging (HI) projects. Deadline: 30 June 2022

The annual call of our sister platform Helmholtz Imaging is now open for applications of collaborative projects from at least two different Helmholtz centers. Project funding is available for up to 3 years with a maximum amount of €200,000 per project applied for from the Initiative and Networking Fund (INF). Matching funding of at least the same amount has to be provided by the participating Helmholtz Centers as their own contribution. Applications can be submitted until 30 June 2022

Helmholtz Imaging, formerly Helmholtz Imaging Platform (HIP), is one of our sister platforms of the Helmholtz Incubator for Information and Data Science. It understands Imaging as a pipeline that covers the full range of data acquisition, data preparation, data management up to data analysis. The Helmholtz Imaging core team focuses on different parts of the pipeline.

A Helmholtz Imaging project combines two characteristic goals:

  1. Promoting imaging science by innovative approaches in information & data science and synergies across imaging modalities and applications
  2. Fostering cross-disciplinary research interaction and method transfer between applications and research fields (across Helmholtz research fields)

Ideally, Helmholtz imaging projects are co-created and iteratively developed with users and non-academic stakeholders, e.g. industry, to ensure the quick adoption of results by a “customer”.
