HAICORE: computing resources for the Helmholtz AI community

A one-off measure to accelerate innovative AI applications

For the Helmholtz AI community, access to computing resources is key to accelerate innovative AI applications. That is why “Helmholtz AI computing resources” (HAICORE) was initiated at the end of 2019 as a one-off measure within the framework of the Helmholtz Incubator

HAICORE was granted funding from the Initiative and Networking Fund which will be equally divided between Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the two main providers of computing resources.

The system will be implemented in 2020 in close collaboration with HIFIS. Thanks to HAICORE, the latest generation of GPUs will soon be available for the Helmholtz AI community, paving the way for a voucher system that ensures short term collaborations and support with respect to tools, services and data science provided by our AI consultants.
